The refrigerant then cycles to the evaporator coils inside the freezer, where it absorbs heat and turns to gas. An evaporator fan circulates cold air through the fridge while a thermostat monitors temperature and cycles the compressor on and off. Disruption at any stage can leave your Kenmore fridge not cold.

Verify Power and Outlet Supply
Ensure the fridge is firmly plugged into a working outlet and the circuit breaker has not tripped. Test the outlet with another appliance to confirm it delivers voltage. Avoid relying on extension cords or power strips that can lose connectivity.
Confirm Temperature Controls

Ambient heat also affects performance. If the fridge sits too close to a heat source or in a poorly ventilated alcove, the compressor may run continuously without achieving proper temperatures.
